Warehouse Team Leader - Nights
Location: Leeds, City Centre
Working Hours: 5 days out of 7, from 21:30 to 06:00
Pay Rate: £14.60 ph
Contract: Tempo to Perm after 12 weeks

Job Summary:
As the Warehouse Team Leader for the LNER contract, you will support the Service Centre Manager in managing and delivering safe, efficient, and cost-effective services encompassing all areas of the operation. You will consistently provide first-class service to the customer's requirements according to the contract.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Ensuring working practices comply with Food Safety principles.
2. Adopting safe working practices in accordance with Health & Safety guidelines and company policies.
3. Guardian of product quality through storage and condition management.
4. Conducting site H&S checks, Risk & COSHH assessments, and fire marshal duties.
5. Providing leadership to the team, acting as a positive role model.
6. Monitoring team performance to meet production goals.
7. Conducting daily team briefings and meetings with staff.
8. Reporting any issues to the Service Centre Manager or their Deputy.
9. Maintaining a high level of quality and accuracy in stocking and de-stocking of trains.
10. Ensuring that stock control processes are effectively managed.
11. Keeping the work area clean and well-organised.
12. Responding to emergencies, crises, or unexpected problems during the shift.
13. Ensuring that working processes comply with contract specifications.
14. Assuming shift responsibility for disciplinary investigations and absence monitoring.
15. Coaching team members and training new staff.
16. Looking after colleague welfare and improving attendance standards.
17. Ensuring behaviour and conduct meet business requirements.
Minimum Requirements:
Education:
Three passes at GCSE O Level (grade C or above).
Work Experience:
Industry experience preferred but not essential (warehouse pick and pack, catering, and logistics). Demonstrable relevant experience in data analytics and business management reporting.
Technical Skills:
MS Office.
Language / Communication Skills:
Excellent English and numeracy skills; effective communication and presentation skills.
Experience:
Proven experience in a fast-paced environment leading a team; minimum of 2 years relevant operational experience in warehousing, preferably within the food manufacturing sector.
Technical Skills:
Forklift truck license preferred; experience with assisted lift equipment is a plus. Food hygiene and health & safety qualifications are advantageous. Strong IT skills, particularly in Microsoft Office applications; advanced Excel skills desirable.
