Sharp Randfield Ltd | Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer
Sharp Randfield are looking for a multi-skilled engineer to join their ever growing team. Our client are based in the Nantwich area and are one of the leading manufacturers in the UK.
Role Purpose
To ensure all Production Lines run to their maximum performance in line with agreed efficiencies resolving any issues in a timely manner.
Role Description & Responsibilities
1. Production Line Changes:
1. In line with the production plan, complete applicable product line changes in a timely manner.
2. Ensure all areas of the line have been changed to suit bottle, box and label format.
3. Adjust settings applicable to the product being run (Fillers, Cappers, Conveyor, Combiners, Laser Etchers & Boxing elements).
4. In conjunction with the Line Leader, test initial run of product to ensure all parts of the line are running efficiently.
5. Ensure change parts are stored effectively for their next use.
2. Maintenance & Managing Issues:
1. Ensure all Production Machinery are maintained to their optimum performance on a daily basis.
2. Perform root cause analysis & resolve any problems during the shift or those highlighted by the Line Leaders.
3. Provide training & support to Shift Managers & Line Supervisors to help resolve performance issues quickly to reduce downtime.
4. Highlight any required parts to the Engineering Manager for re-ordering where necessary.
3. Equipment Safety & Training:
1. Ensuring all safety elements of the machinery are in place.
2. Continually review & support the production team with operating the machines in a safe way.
3. Completion of preventative maintenance schedules & How To Guide for Teams.
4. Management of all site maintenance logs & records and feedback to Engineering Manager.
4. Performance:
1. Provide ongoing summaries of issues across each Production Line with resolutions for improved performance & reasons for reduction in outputs.
2. Provide recommendations to improve machinery performance to Line Manager.
3. Meet performance indicators (KPIs) for each area of responsibility.
KPIs/Key Objectives
1. Ensure production lines produce targeted volumes on a daily basis.
2. Reduce downtime to a minimum resolving issues in a timely manner.
3. Work collaboratively with the Production Team to ensure all product line changes are completed in line with the plan.
4. As an engineering team, constantly look at ways to improve efficiencies & line output.
5. Implement maintenance plan across all lines when not in use to improve production & limit issues.
Knowledge & Experience
* Previous Engineer experience is essential.
* Experience with dealing with multiple production machinery would be preferred.
Professional Qualifications & Education
* Educated to Degree Level or Equivalent.
* Preferred: Level 3 City & Guilds Qualification.
* The ability to work at height, lift a minimum of 20kg, welding & hot works.
* Use of plant machinery including angle grinder(s).
* Electrical experience.
* Ability to work in a diverse and dynamic environment.
* Good planning & prioritising.
* Good communication and interpersonal skills.
* Understanding of Health and Safety practices.
* Distinguished record of creativity and innovation.
