Job Description
We are inviting applications from experienced, motivated, and enthusiastic HCPC registered candidates to join our friendly and hardworking team in Biochemistry.
Candidates should be able to demonstrate experience of working in a modern, fully automated, Biochemistry laboratory. You will be required to have good communication and keyboard skills, and the ability to work under pressure. Although initial training will be supervised by Biomedical Scientists, once fully trained, you should be capable of working independently and candidates will be required to participate in the 24/7 shift system once appropriate training and competencies have been completed.
Qualifications
* BSc (Hons) or equivalent in Biomedical Sciences
* Registration with the Health Care Professions Council (HCPC) as a Biomedical Scientist

* Evidence of Continuing Professional Development
Skills and Knowledge
* Ability to use highly complex automated equipment and associated computer software systems
* Ability to maintain high standards of accuracy and hand to eye coordination in repetitive manual techniques
* Ability to work in a timely methodical and organised manner
* The ability to work using own initiative and without supervision
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* A knowledge of Health and Safety legislation and procedures within a clinical laboratory
DESIRABLE
* Can use Microsoft Word and Excel
* Practical knowledge of departmental equipment and methods
* An understanding of laboratory Quality Management Systems
* Ability to undertake the technical validation of results
