Oakley is looking for a Construction Technical Designer who has impeccable attention to detail and the ability to produce clear and informative construction production drawings. The right candidate will need to work systematically to ensure completion of tasks to meet strict deadlines and fulfil clients’ expectations as well as being able to work cross functionally with the Estimating and Operations teams and able to communicate and explain technical information. Key responsibilities: Be responsible for the design and specification of projects by producing concept and technical drawings and plans. To work to specific requirements of a project and its design to transform ideas and concepts into detailed technical drawings. Facilitate client design meetings, presenting high-level drawings that are functional, safe and compliant with Building Regs. Coordinate packages and chair design team meetings. Following specifications and calculations to create various technical drawings, such as space Planning, Building Elevations, Building Plans, Electrical/Mechanical Layouts /Schematics, Fire Strategy, Building Location Site Plans, Tea Point / Kitchen Design. Develop concept design into detailed design including detailed risk assessments. Work with mechanical and electrical contractors to develop M&E design. Take into consideration build costs when designing and look to value engineer where possible. Ensuring final designs are compliant with building regulations. Progression to become responsible for the design process and management of the design team. Experience required: Proficiency in AutoCAD, with a strong emphasis on 2D design. Experience in creating detailed schematics and CAD drawings. Impeccable attention to detail and have sound knowledge of the discipline.
