To be responsible for assessment and intervention in a clinic setting, working from a centralised waiting list. To be responsible for, and manage, at least one school-contract based caseload as the service requires. To work clinically and be able to care for children presenting with a wide range of conditions and treatment requirements, initiating and promoting excellence in clinical practice acting as a role model. To support initial assessment clinics as required. To support the wider team during times of sickness as directed by team lead. To be able to coordinate assessments of clients referred and accept/decline where appropriate giving reasons why to referring areas. Be able to vary how information is communicated dependent on the recipients. Participate in clinical supervision ensuring that practice is maintained at high levels and is evaluated utilising appropriate mechanisms. To be pro-active in self-development by participating in learning opportunities provided through staff training and supervision & where feasible, undertake work within a more specialist area of SLCN under the guidance & supervision of more senior members of staff as part of career development (as opportunities allow). This may include working with children having EHCPs in mainstream or special schools, pre-school children with complex needs who are seen in Hospital Children Centres or children attending resourced provision. Maintain and update skills and knowledge through life-long learning, especially within the sphere of childrens services. To demonstrate and maintain own knowledge and awareness of recognising and responding appropriately to safeguarding the needs of vulnerable children. Including participation in regular safeguarding supervision at least once every 12 weeks, in line with trust policy. To attend multi-agency safeguarding meetings as required. To undertake all mandatory / essential training as required by the Trust. Demonstrate a proactive approach to team working and a commitment to team development by participating in & contributing to any working group as directed by the service lead. To attend & participate in regular team meetings. To maintain standards in ongoing health information, both electronic and paper based, ensuring safe keeping and confidentiality, accurate record keeping of relevant data and profiling. To input clinical information onto SystmOne as per Trust policy. To maintain confidentiality, privacy and dignity in relation to the patients and their treatment at all times. Concisely record in the clients notes all communications with relatives and other agencies to form a comprehensive record and enable consistent information to be given by members of the team. To regularly undertake & record, relevant outcome measures (including TOMs) for the clients on caseload. To provide opportunities for student training as required. To adhere to infection prevention policies to reduce and minimise risks of heath care acquired infections and participate in infection prevention audits. To comply with Health & Safety policies within the Trust and report any accidents or untoward incidents occurring whilst on duty in accordance with Trust policies. Providing support for the root cause analysis of any accidents or incidents.
