We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Nottinghamshire to assist with the appointment of a Children Social Worker, on a 3-month contract, likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.
Rate of Pay: £20.64 - £26.81 per Hour
Responsibilities:
* Responsible for the performance of the designated team, including work allocation and review, supervision, case recording, target setting and appraisal. Monitor and quality assure team and individual performance and take action to improve performance where required.
* Deputise for other Managers and peers in any other team when reasonably requested to do so and assist Lead Officers to carry out the council's policies relating to children and families, including deputising for the Lead Officer when appropriate.
* Recruit, maintain and deploy a competent staff team through effective supervision, staff development and training, in accordance with North Lincolnshire policies. Manage the staff group to deliver services to children and families within a safe and healthy working environment in accordance with North Lincolnshire policies.
* Manage, maintain and lead on the delivery of safe and effective commissioning of placements for children in care with complex needs. This includes contractual arrangements, oversight of the compliance, quality and delivery of commissioned arrangements, financial negotiation and management and ongoing monitoring of provision. Provide information, reports and analysis to senior managers within the Council and partners in relation to commissioned provision for children in care.
* Manage and take responsibility for the delegated budgets and resources with due regard to economy, efficiency and effectiveness in line with organizational policy. Ensure adherence with financial requirements and procedures in relation to the commissioning and funding of commissioned placements.
Qualifications:
* Professional Social Work Qualification CQSW, CSS, DipSW
* Social Work England Registered.
Experience:
* Extensive experience of working in a social care setting which has included face-to-face work with service users, and experience of supervising other workers.
* Experience of working closely, cooperatively and flexibly with others to deliver an effective service which meets the needs of children, young people, their families and carers, dealing with tensions and conflicts as they arise.
* Experience of multi-agency working and the ability to develop partnership working. Representing all strands of children's social care services, as required, at multi-agency meetings, in a professional manner.
* Experience of ICT systems, including keyboard skills, for record keeping, service monitoring and communications.
* Experience of creating systems for the effective collation and monitoring of service, staff and budgetary information and to produce reports for senior management.
* Experience of compliance with standards and deadlines.
