Education Training and Employment Officer Duration: Initially 2 months Hours: 36 hours per week Rate: £29 umbrella an hour (£22 PAYE an hour) Croydon Council are looking for an Education Training and Employment Officer to join their 16 Childrens Social Care Team Responsibilities: Providing door to door intensive one-to-one support and outreach work by delivering practical hands-on education, training and employment information, advice and guidance help and support to post-16 young people who are open to the 16 Team for Care Experienced Young People who are either NEET or at risk of becoming NEET Screening and assessing ETE goals and aspirations; gathering education history and reports from schools, colleges and training providers. Offering suitable ETE opportunities, daily recording and evidencing of face-to-face contacts and interventions Preparing monthly and/or quarterly post-16 ETE reports Undertaking informal mentoring; working holistically with the young person, parents/carers and ETE providers Delivering workshops to young people; CV creation; interview readiness and effective job searching Requirements: Good knowledge of the NEET agenda and strategies for improving and sustaining engagement of young people Knowledge of local provision for 16-25 year olds Advanced qualification or comparable experience in the field of 16-25 education, training or careers advice Experience of working directly with young people in a frontline service, preferably within a careers advice or education/training/employment context Ability to travel between office site, home visits, community locations and education establishments
