The successful candidate will be required to contribute with the repair, replacement, construction and alteration of assets. Progression opportunities may be available for someone who demonstrates a desire to learn and undertake new tasks. This will be dependent on business need. Main Responsibilities Ensure before commencing work you understand the task/s that you have been instructed to undertake; Promote and demonstrate a culture of Health Safety & Quality at all times Preparation of the work site. Erect signs and barriers. Excavate, lay cable and backfill. Excavate pole and stay holes. Fix meter boards, meters and cut-outs. Make single phase service term in cut out dead Make 3 phase service term in cut out dead Use mini excavator. To provide first aid where required in accordance with training. Maintain tools, equipment, materials and vehicles in a safe condition. Assist other team members. Assess the potential impact of a specific work activity on customers. Minimise the adverse impact of own activities on customers. Advise customers affected of the impact of own activities. Resolve customer complaints, wherever possible directly. Assess site risks, and take action to remove or avoid those risks. Comply with safety instructions, use protective equipment and wear protective clothing. Report all accidents and incidents The Ideal Candidate The work involves being away from the depot in and around the area, often in a team of two people. The environment requires you to be able to react quickly, decisively and responsibly. You will also need to be flexible in your approach to assist the team in meeting its objectives. The role is suitable for someone who enjoys the demands of a physical outdoor environment. You will need to be mobile throughout the area and you may also be required to undertake out of hours standby duties, therefore a full driving licence is desirable. Some electrical experience would be an advantage, however full training will be given. Operationally we require you to live within approximately 30 minutes of the depot you are applying for.
