JOB TITLE: Electrician (Qualifying Supervisor) - Full time
SALARY: £35,000
LOCATION: Birmingham
The role is a permanent role, full time, ordinarily Monday - Friday 37.5 hours a week (plus half hour unpaid lunch) but with flexibility required should the occasion arise.
The Role
To ensure an excellent in-house responsive repairs & maintenance service to our clients' tenants living in our properties & care homes across Birmingham. Aiming to meet their expectations with every interaction, communicate effectively with our tenants, team members and contractors at all times.
Responsibilities
1. Carrying out reactive maintenance, remedial work & PPMs on domestic and communal installations, carrying out testing & producing EICRs, Minors Works and Electrical Installation Certificates as required.
2. Undertake the role of Qualifying Supervisor (QS) as per NICEIC/NAPIT.
3. Overseeing electrical work carried out by contractors.
4. Diagnosing and rectifying electrical faults, carrying out electrical upgrades.
5. Carrying out void refurbs/rewires when required.
6. Working alongside our other in-house trades team to help with other works to the highest standard.
7. Knowledge of central heating controls, BMS etc.
8. Completing Responsive Repairs first time wherever possible.
9. Use of handheld system and completion of forms and processes electronically.
10. Listen and understand the needs of the tenant, effectively always communicating with them to ensure they receive excellent service.
11. Ensure the Health and Safety of self and others is always adhered to.
12. Ensuring the security and safe condition of vehicles, plant/tools & equipment.
13. Liaising with customers and team members to ensure correct processes are adhered to.
Person Profile Skills and Experience
1. Minimum of 3 years' experience as a fully qualified electrician.
2. C&G 18th Edition Regulations.
3. C&G 2391 or 2394/5 Inspection & Testing.
4. C&G 2365 or C&G 2357 or C&G 236 (1&2) in Electrical installation (NVQ L3).
5. AM2.
6. Experience of being a registered Qualified Supervisor with the NICEIC/NAPIT.
7. Experience of domestic fire safety, smoke alarms and knowledge of BS: 5839.
8. ESC Gold card.
9. Experience of installing and maintaining emergency lighting equipment and circuits. Knowledge of BS: 5266.
You will contribute to the out of hours on call rota which is currently 1 week in every 6 (on call standby fee paid of £80, door to door rates when called out & W/E & B/H enhanced rates).
The post-holder will hold a current full driving licence with no more than 3 penalty points as the role comes with a tracked company leased van (not for private use).
