1. To contribute to achieving the objectives of the Streetcare service.
2. To work in a professional manner and portray a positive image of the council in the workplace.
3. To assist in enhancing the quality of our local environment.
4. To work as directed by the Streetcare team leader for daily operations.
5. To operate mechanical equipment, such as weed ripping, leaf blowing and pedestrian sweeping machines, along with temporary traffic signals where used.
6. To erect and take down traffic management equipment where necessary and ensure work is completed in accordance with any agreed schedule.
7. To undertake health and safety responsibilities commensurate with the post
8. To undertake litter picking, bin emptying and maintenance, brush and shovel work, clearance of waste accumulation including detritus, fly tips, dog fouling and removal of vegetation and weed growths, weed spraying, removal of illegal signs.
9. General reporting of street scene defects e.g. dirty signs, graffiti, fly posters, fly tipping and need for weed sprying/removal
10. To undertake sandbag filling, snow clearance and footway gritting in times of adverse weather.
11. To undertake removal of small dead animals.
12. To participate in training necessary to meet the needs of the service.
13. To work in ither teams to cover absences or as required by the service.
14. To undertake other duties commensurate with the grade in accordance with the purpose of accountabilities of the post.
