Established in 2002, Greenhouse Sports charity is leading the fight for a future where young people are supported and empowered, whatever their challenges, through sport. We coach and mentor young people from deprived backgrounds because the crisis for children living in deprivation is real and it is urgent. Children from the poorest families are 3 times more likely to not participate in any extra-curricular activities compared to those from wealthier families and they lack many opportunities that are available to their wealthier peers.
We have an exciting opportunity to join a mission-driven Sport for Development charity that makes a real difference. We are also a great place to work and are proud to be a winner of the Sunday Times Best Places to Work awards for 2024, in the medium category.
The Role
We are looking to recruit a qualified, skilled Tennis Head Coach to lead one of our programmes. The role will be based at St Ignatius College in London and will include planning and delivering a comprehensive high-quality coaching and mentoring programme. Our programmes typically include a combination of non-curricular breakfast, lunch, and after-school coaching sessions, one-to-one or small group sessions (where agreed with the school), and develop regular competitive opportunities for all players. You will also be required to deliver half-term and holiday camps during the school holidays.
As a coach, you will also work closely with the Impact Team to collect high-quality data to demonstrate the effectiveness of what we do and to quantify the difference we make to our young people. Data is collected at designated times throughout the year and includes case studies, questionnaires, skills, and fitness testing. Our coaches also regularly review the young people's progress and set targets for their future development.
Greenhouse Sports is committed to Safeguarding & Child Protection and you will ensure that all policies and procedures are adhered to at all times and will maintain accurate records of all registered participants, staff, and volunteers at all planned sessions.
