The Global Publications Associate Director will Lead the establishment of Strategic Publications Plans alignment with overall medical communication strategy and objectives for a given asset and in alignment with overall publication strategy established at above asset-level/full region. To achieve this, the Global Publications Associate Director will work closely with the Global Publications Director.
The Global Publications Associate Director is responsible for ensuring advanced execution of plans/part of plans, in a timely manner according to plan prioritization, available resources and following GSK policies, good publication practices and highest standards quality. The post-holder will be involved in the editorial review of key priority publications, oversee the quality of document tracking in the publications management system, and assist with reporting and monitoring processes.
The post-holder will be viewed as a publication professional with great understanding of GPP and ICMJE to foster compliant development of accurate and timely publications. These activities will support the Global Medical Affairs plans and GSK organizational objectives.

In this role you will
* Be responsible for leading a cross-functional team to develop strategic publications plans and detailed tactics to execute those plans
* Work closely with medical function to incorporate the strategic publication plan into the medical strategic framework
* Ensure global and regional/country alignment and input on plans in collaboration with Regional Publications team
* Oversee effective execution of publication plans within a rigorous framework that operates according to established best practices
* Maintain strong focus on scientific integrity and ethics, managing vendor relationships including financial and contractual aspects of projects, and establishing relationships with key stakeholders
* Serve as the point of contact and publications expert for internal and external stakeholders, proactively communicate publication plans and participating in cross-functional initiatives to achieve team objectives

Basic Qualifications & Skills:
We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:
* Batchelor’s degree in science, pharmacy or other allied health field, medical communications, or related subject.
* Experience in publications management, scientific communications and/or medical affairs with an external scientific engagement focus
* Ability to critically analyse and interpret data.
* Well organized and able to deliver multiple projects simultaneously.
* Ability to prioritize workload and makes an accurate determination of timeframe for project completion.
* Effectively communicates with team members and stakeholders regarding the planning and development of publication deliverables, including the management of agency partners and the associated budgets.
Preferred Qualifications & Skills:
Please note the following skills are not necessary, just preferred, if you do not have them, please still apply:
* MSc or PhD or medical degree in science, pharmacy, or other allied health field.
* Experience in pharmaceutical environment
* Experience in influencing within a multifunctional matrix team.
* Demonstrate the personal and scientific credibility to engage with global external experts recognised to be leaders in their medicine.
* Ability to influence others and to work through complex issues to reach appropriate consensus – be able to provide examples of having listened to the perspectives of others and influenced a change in perspective in others.
* Familiarity of or experience with Datavision/iEnvision Publication software.
