Stopover project provides an accommodation based housing support service to 14 young people aged 16 - 25 years. Each young person has their own bedsit room, which comprises of a sitting room / bedroom, kitchen and en-suite bathroom. The aim of the service is to support young people to develop their independent living skills in order to move on to less supported accommodation or a tenancy of their own.
We are currently recruiting for a part time 30 hour per week Transition Mentor with responsibility for coordinating activities and evidencing the outcomes achieved, if successful you would join our dedicated team based in Glasgow.
This is the perfect time for someone to join our service and help support young people through trauma informed practices and empower young people, so their voice is heard. ‘The Promise’ is that Scotland’s children will grow up loved, safe and respected and as Transition Mentor will be expected to embrace this approach to the support you deliver #keepthepromise. You will work closely with young people aged between 16-25 exploring opportunities for them within employment, education and community integration. Some of the young people we support have experienced severe trauma in their young lives and you will provide advise and support to ensure they are safe and feel heard.
The project is staffed 24 hours a day with a sleepover and nightshift in operation.
Transition mentors currently work on a rolling 7 week rota which comprises of early, day, late and sleepover shifts. The project has dedicated nightshift workers and therefore will not form part of your rota.
This is a part time permanent role working 30 hours per week.
