Job Title: Vehicle Inspector and Tester

Description: A fantastic opportunity is available for an experienced Vehicle Inspector and Tester to join this family-run, successful and local engineering business that builds and supplies recovery vehicles worldwide.
This role will include testing and inspecting vehicles throughout their build process, ensuring the highest build standards are maintained for the end users. This role would be well suited to a driven, motivated, and disciplined individual who is a strong communicator with a keen eye for detail and has the passion to achieve perfection.
Job Role:
1. Inspect all vehicles throughout their build process and sign off on the relevant stages of build.
2. Carry out load and overload testing on all vehicles and record all data.
3. Complete final inspections on vehicles prior to customer handover and document all findings in a concise manner.
4. Carry out pre and post paint inspections.
5. Manage the inspection and receipt of all lifting equipment being supplied with builds and ensure the certificates are filed correctly.
6. Record the serial numbers of lifting equipment supplied with builds and ensure correct certification is supplied within the vehicle handover pack.
7. Inspect equipment being delivered from the US.
8. Complete any additional tasks to meet the business's needs.
Skills & Experience:
To be considered for the role, you must be self-motivated, have a strong work ethic, and be able to work on your own initiative. The company is especially interested in speaking to candidates who can demonstrate the following key skills and experience:
1. Proven experience of motor vehicle inspections.
2. Prior knowledge or qualifications on electric and hydraulic systems.
3. An understanding of Lifting Equipment management (LOLER).
4. Computer literate, including Microsoft Office Suite.
5. Energetic, enthusiastic, and willing to get involved and help wherever needed.
6. Strong attention to detail.
7. HGV Licence (desirable but not essential).
8. Organised and tidy.
Shift Pattern:
Monday to Friday or 4 on / 4 off
Hours:
08:30 - 17:30. During busy periods, the hours may be longer and include some weekend working.
Pay Rate:
£15.00 - £16.50 per hour depending upon skills and experience
Vetting:
The company will require vetting including recent work references and background checks as part of their company procedure.
