Salary: Basic Rate of £21.39 per hour PAYE
Rate after achieving 39 hours in the week: £32.09 p/h PAYE
Contract: Long term work - 5 years plus
Hours: SHIFT
Qualifications: Blue CSCS NVQ Level 2 in Formwork
Your role as a Formwork Carpenter will consist of:
1. Use architectural and engineering drawings, as well as specifications, to determine the dimensions, shape, and layout of the formwork required for a particular concrete structure.
2. Build formwork according to the specified dimensions and shape outlined in the plans. This involves cutting, shaping, and joining the materials to create molds to contain the poured concrete.
3. Set up the formwork in its designated position, ensuring that it is securely anchored and properly aligned. This involves using a variety of tools and equipment, such as hammers, nails, screws, and braces, to assemble and fasten the formwork components.
4. May be responsible for placing and securing steel reinforcement bars (rebar) within the formwork before the concrete is poured.
5. Work closely with other construction professionals, such as concrete workers, steel fixers, and site supervisors.
6. Once the concrete has sufficiently cured and attained the required strength, dismantle the formwork.
Based in Plymouth, remuneration for this role is £21.39 per hour, you will accrue holiday entitlement and be eligible to join the VGC pension scheme once certain criteria have been met.
