Our client is a well-renowned Construction company adding multidisciplinary contractors and delivering innovative engineering and construction solutions across the rail, highways, aviation, ports, defence, energy, water, and environment sectors.
We are currently seeking a Bid Manager with relevant Construction experience within the industry.
Reporting to the Commercial Director, you will deliver work on winning tenders.
Your responsibilities will include:
1. Managing both internal and external bid team members ensuring their responsibilities are met correctly and to the agreed timescales.
2. Looking for innovation to further develop work winning opportunities.
3. Maintaining personal training and development.
4. Representing the company in the delivery of tenders.
5. Receiving instruction on behalf of the company and issuing instruction to ensure the successful delivery of tenders assigned to you by Senior Management.
6. Identifying likely key issues before the tender lands.
7. Assisting with the selection of designers and likely JV partners, agreeing on tender design services and fees.
8. Identifying key subcontractors and meeting with key stakeholders/subcontractors to develop early relationships.
9. Reviewing available information from PQQ/Business Development team and researching technologies/project background.
10. Identifying client decision makers.
11. Preparing for and attending pre-tender interviews/meetings with the Client Team.
12. Liaising with, coordinating, and managing the bid team, including Estimators, Buyers, Planners, Ops Support/Contracts Manager, Design Team, Client team, Submissions Editor/Proposals Manager, and PQQ/Business Development.
BUSINESS CONTINUAL IMPROVEMENT:
1. Obtaining performance data from sites for incorporation into tenders.
2. Validating compliance against quality submission commitments to assess practical limitations and ideas for future bids.
3. Assisting with the development and maintenance of data libraries.
4. Assisting sites with data capture and linking back to the business development team.
5. Attending project close-out meetings and facilitating the production of suitable material.
6. Visiting live contracts to review value engineering and current best practices and providing feedback to the bid team and future tenders.
7. Maintaining effective relationships with key customers and supply chain partners.
You will be authorized and empowered to make decisions necessary in the delivery of your responsibilities. Effective communication with your line managers is required to implement suitable checks and balances.
