The ideal candidate will have at least 4-5 years practice experience in all aspects of audit, accounting, taxation, management information and statutory compliance. Experience in audits is essential to be able to perform the ‘senior’ role on audit assignments. Remote working is available but only for specific / one off circumstances and is at the discretion of the partners Salary – to be negotiated based on experience and subject to annual review in January Benefits – 25 days bank holidays Hours – Monday to Friday 8:30am to 16:30pm with ½ hour lunch break Training – the firm is an ICEAW Authorised Training Employer and an ACCA Approved Employer with Platinum level Trainee Development and Audit Practising Certificate Development Job Role Description The role is a mix of accounts and audit work split approximately 60% accounts / 40% audit. Our clients range from small owner managed businesses up to medium groups with an annual turnover of up to £55m. The Duties Preparation of accounts and business / corporation tax computations for predominately small limited companies with a wide range of turnover, but also sole traders and partnerships Liaising with clients to collect information and resolve queries to draft accounts and tax computations Preparation of VAT returns and management accounts Audit of financial statements from planning to completion, ready for manager review Managing juniors on audit assignments including assigning, overseeing and reviewing of audit work Providing training, guidance, and support to members of the team as required The Person Relevant practice experience in all aspects of audit, accounting, taxation, management information and statutory compliance ACA or ACCA qualified (for the right candidate we can provide a full study support package to finish their qualifications) Be able to run audit assignments immediately Experience of owner-managed small to medium-business accounts preparation including statutory financial statements Be flexible and proactive in managing multiple priorities Have excellent communication skills and be confident speaking to clients face to face, over the telephone, and by email Must have excellent IT skills, including working knowledge of Excel The ability to check work for accuracy and have good attention to detail Be able to demonstrate your initiative to solve problems The ability to travel to clients’ premises as required Must have the right to live and work in the UK
