Overview
Our client is seeking a dedicated and experienced Transport Office Manager to oversee dispatch operations within an LGV Bulk Fuel Operation. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a comprehensive understanding of transport management. This role is crucial in ensuring efficient transport services while maintaining high standards of safety and compliance. The Transport Office Manager will be responsible for managing a team, coordinating transport schedules, and optimising routes to enhance operational efficiency.
Duties
* Supervise and manage the transport dispatch team, ensuring effective communication and collaboration among staff.
* Observe transport policies and procedures to ensure compliance with legal requirements and company standards.
* Coordinate 24/7 transport operations, including scheduling, route planning, and managing the rostas of the planning team
* Maintain accurate records of transport activities, including logs of deliveries, vehicle inspections, and driver performance.
* Liaise with clients to address any transportation-related enquiries or issues, ensuring excellent customer service at all times.
Qualifications
* Proven experience in a managerial role within the transport sector.
* Strong team management skills with the ability to motivate and lead a workforce.
* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
* Proficient in clerical tasks with strong organisational abilities to manage multiple priorities effectively.
* Familiarity with legislation in transport operations is essential.
* Ability to supervise staff effectively while fostering a positive work environment.
