Field Service Engineer Process Instrumentation & Automation
Location: Sheffield, M62 Surrounding area, North West
Role + Responsibilities:
1. Servicing, calibrating, and fault diagnostics/repair of a range of electronic and mechanical process control instrumentation.
2. Commission, calibrate, and repair onsite instrumentation.
3. Work in all industries within the Company customer database.
4. Liaise with Service Coordinators to ensure all spares, tools, and paperwork are available.
5. Communicate with customers prior to executing jobs to ensure understanding of job nature and advise on estimated time of arrival and any anticipated delays.
6. Adhere to site safety rules, permit to work systems, and carry out risk assessments.
7. Comply with local and industry procedures and the Company quality management system.
8. Travel throughout the UK, overseas, and possibly offshore.
9. Provide services and support to other departments and customers as deemed appropriate by the Services Manager.
10. Timely and accurate job reporting in accordance with the Company service report forms.
Qualification + Profile:
1. Ideally qualified to ONC/HNC level, preferably in Electronics or Instrumentation.
2. Recognised apprenticeship in the above disciplines or a minimum of 2 years' Process Control experience.
3. Strong problem-solving and diagnostic skills.
4. Process Instrumentation or similar experience preferred.
5. Highly motivated, able to work on own initiative or as part of a team.
6. Flexible approach to working activities.
7. Excellent communication and organisational skills.
8. Ability to develop good working relationships with customers.
9. Excellent punctuality and timekeeping.
10. A clean driving licence.
