Job Description
They are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Food Technology Teacher to join our dynamic Technology Department from April 2025. The successful candidate will inspire students across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5, delivering engaging lessons that promote creativity, independence, and a love for food and nutrition.
Key Responsibilities
* Plan and deliver high-quality Food Technology lessons that meet the national curriculum requirements.
* Foster a passion for food, nutrition, and healthy living among students.
* Prepare students for GCSE and A-Level Food Technology assessments, ensuring excellent outcomes.
* Contribute to the development of innovative schemes of work and resources within the department.
* Manage and maintain the food technology facilities and equipment, ensuring a safe and effective learning environment.
* Participate in extracurricular activities, including clubs and events, that enhance the learning experience for students.
* Work collaboratively with colleagues to promote cross-curricular links and whole-school initiatives.
Person Specification
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a degree in Food Technology or a related subject.
* Experience teaching Food Technology at Key Stages 3 and 4 (Key Stage 5 experience desirable).
* A strong understanding of the curriculum and assessment requirements for Food Technology.
* Excellent classroom management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate students of all abilities.
* Strong communication and teamwork skills, with a commitment to collaboration and professional development.
* Passion for education and a genuine desire to make a difference in the lives of young people.
