We are recruiting on behalf of our client for a skilled CNC Lathe Machinist. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical aptitude and be proficient in operating CNC machinery to produce components. Based in Alfreton, this is initially for 8 weeks but has the potential to become a permanent role
Duties
* Operate CNC Lathe to manufacture metal and plastic parts according to specifications and engineering drawings.
* Set up and adjust CNC machines for optimal performance, ensuring accuracy in production.
* Utilise power tools and hand tools for assembly and finishing processes as required.
* Conduct quality checks using measuring instruments to ensure compliance with specifications.
* Maintain equipment by performing routine maintenance and troubleshooting issues as they arise.
What we are looking for
* Proficient in using CAD software, particularly SolidWorks, for interpreting technical drawings.
* Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to assemble, disassemble, and weld components as necessary.
* Familiarity with tooling techniques and the use of various machining tools.
* Basic maths skills for calculations related to measurements and tolerances.
* Experience with power tools and hand tools relevant to machining operations.
* Ability to work effectively under pressure while maintaining high standards of quality.
What's in it for you -
* Initially an 8 week role, however this could lead to a permanent position
* Working days Monday - Friday 5am - 7am starts. Ideally working a 12 hour day but a 39 hour week will also be considered
* Pay £16 - £18 per hour
