Site based Head of Transport
Reporting to the Head of Operations the ideal candidate must be a graduate with at least 5 years' experience within Transport and Logistics. The ideal candidate must have previously managed a large fleet of at least 100 vehicles and managed a budget of 18 million.
Principle Accountabilities:
Overall fleet management to include ‘account management’ of fleet providers.
Achievement of the daily/weekly/monthly KPI's through effective guidance and coaching of transport team managers.
Monitoring all investigation activity to understand root cause and make sure that corrective and preventative action has been implemented and solutions identified (or escalated) where necessary.
Upholding departmental compliance by consistently monitoring QHSE, Sustainability, and Fleet standards.
This encompasses having an oversight of PPE usage, vehicle inspections, CV servicing, MOTs, VORs, contractor management, hygiene protocols, temperature checks, and thorough tracking of accidents and near misses.
Supporting the control of department resources and costs within agreed finance targets.
Monitoring routing and working collaboratively with wider teams to reduce damage and manage costs effectively.
Taking an inclusive approach to continuous improvement by reviewing the operation as a whole and making recommendations.
