Our fantastic Temp Desk Administrator is relocating! Sarah has been working with Recruitment Direct on a temporary basis for the last few months, so who’s better to tell us about the role than her!
We asked Sarah to describe a ‘day in her life’ and here’s what she had to say:
*
Working in the busy Leominster office of Recruitment Direct, I’m part of a close-knit team that makes a real impact. I work alongside Janet, our Temp Desk Consultant, while Rachael and Clare focus on permanent placements. Together, we ensure clients get the right staff and candidates find roles that suit them.
*
I start the week by checking timesheets submitted online by our candidates, using our CRM system. I then chase up any missing timesheets and follow up with clients to get the hours authorised. If needed, I liaise with our payroll administrator, Claire, to ensure timesheets are processed correctly and candidates receive their pay without any issues.
*
I also manage our diary, making sure all bookings are accurate and sending follow-up messages to confirm candidates have arrived as scheduled. If there are any changes, I promptly update both the diary and our CRM system. When last-minute issues arise—such as cancellations or urgent client requests—I quickly find replacements and coordinate with all parties to keep things running smoothly.
*
A key part of my role is candidate and client communication. I handle incoming phone calls, emails and in-person inquiries, assisting job seekers with the registration process. I also reach out to clients to confirm booking details and gather role requirements to ensure we match them with the right candidates. Additionally, I oversee compliance and documentation, ensuring all right-to-work checks are completed and records remain up to date.
*
Beyond that, I create booking forms for new candidates and clients, write job specifications and post them online to attract the right applicants. I also keep our job adverts fresh and up to date, both in our window and on our job board.
*
Every day is fast paced, varied and incredibly rewarding! It’s perfect for someone who enjoys working with people, has a strong attention to detail and can juggle multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of accuracy and professionalism. With a supportive team, a welcoming office and plenty of opportunities to develop new skills, it’s a fantastic place to work!
What we are looking for:
*
Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
*
IT literate with Excel proficiency
*
Confident communicator, able to develop relationships with clients and candidates
*
Prior recruitment experience would be advantageous
*
Prior office experience preferred
*
Willingness to monitor the out of hours mobile
*
Full driving licence
