Bank Environment Waste Porter - Band 2
Job Overview
Bank Environment Porter – Band 2
Staffing Solutions are seeking Environment Porters to help maintain the hospital site.
The role involves clearing the clinical and non-clinical waste streams for our busy wards and departments to help ensure the provision of a positive environment for our patients. Good communication skills are essential as you will work as part of a team in departments across the Trust.
It is essential that you have a C1 category on your driving licence as part of the role will involve driving around the site in a 7.5 tonne truck collecting general waste bins, cardboard waste bins, and clinical waste bins.

The successful candidate will join a busy and engaging team that looks after waste and recycling for the hospital.
Main Duties of the Job
1. Collection of clinical, domestic, recycling, and other special waste items from wards and departments in line with the Trust's Policy and Procedures for Waste Management.
2. Segregation of all waste streams prior to collection by waste contractors.
3. The weighing and logging of clinical waste bins and electrical appliances.
4. Collection of soiled laundry from wards and departments for storage prior to collection by the laundry supplier.
5. To collect and deliver furniture and other equipment as required from corridors, wards, and departments as detailed in job request sheets.
