We are seeking a clinical fellow in robotic pelvic & upper tract surgery to join our department from March 2025. The post is for one year initially with a view to extend.
Main duties of the job
Conquest Hospital has a well-founded Urology department, delivering outpatient activities and a smaller Investigation Suite for flexible cystoscopy lists. Eastbourne DGH is a cancer centre for urological surgery and currently provides robotic and laparoscopic prostatectomy services and renal cryotherapy/laparoscopic partial nephrectomy services for patients across Sussex. There is also a lithotripsy service.
Job responsibilities
The post-holder will be managerially accountable to the Clinical Lead, and professionally accountable to the Medical Director. The successful candidate will be expected to agree a formal job plan with the Clinical Lead, Service Manager, and Medical Director indicating the number of programmed activities within 1 month of taking up the post. The post-holder will be expected to cross-cover essential services when his/her colleagues are on leave.
Person Specification
Experience
* Completed at least four years' full-time postgraduate training (or its equivalent gained on a part-time or flexible basis), at least two of which will be in a specialty training programme in a relevant specialty or as a fixed-term specialty trainee in a relevant specialty; or shall have equivalent experience and competencies.
* Evidence of competence in robotic upper tract surgery.
Qualifications
* Medical Degree from a recognised medical school. FRCS or equivalent.
