We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of financial principles, exceptional organisational skills, and the ability to maintain accurate financial records.
Responsibilities
1. Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records using accounting software.
2. Record daily financial transactions, including purchases, receipts, sales, and payments.
3. Reconcile and balance all accounts regularly.
4. Process invoices, ensuring accuracy and timely payments.
5. Monitor and follow up on overdue payments.
6. Prepare and send invoices to clients.
7. Reconcile bank statements with general ledger entries.
8. Identify and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
9. Generate and analyse financial reports, such as income statements and balance sheets.
10. Provide regular financial updates to management.
11. Process payroll accurately and on time.
12. Ensure compliance with relevant tax regulations and reporting requirements.
13. Track and manage company expenses.
14. Verify and process employee expense reports.
15. Ensure adherence to accounting policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
16. Assist in the preparation of financial audits.
Qualifications
1. Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar role.
2. Proficiency in Xero accounting software.
3. Strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
4. Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
5. Excellent organizational and time management skills.
6. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
7. Ability to work independently and collaboratively with team members.
8. Relevant certification (e.g., Certified Bookkeeper) is a plus.
Education
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
