Based in Co Antrim, our client operates in the construction sector and is currently seeking a HSEQ Officer to join their existing HSEQ team.
The successful HSEQ Officer will be responsible for the continuous improvement of the HSEQ Management System across 2 sites in the Co Antrim / Belfast areas. You will promote a positive and proactive safety culture through engagement, leadership, empowerment and accountability.
Responsibilities:
* Maintain, develop and audit the integrated HSEQ Management system to ensure a culture of continuous improvement is sustained.
* Utilise the internal auditing process to ensure company compliance with regulatory requirements, HSEQ best practice, environmental permits/consents and all applicable standards; leading the external audits where required
* Maintain strong working relationships with all internal and external regulators and stakeholders
* Assist in ensuring the delivery of suitable HSEQ instruction, information and training
* Proactively monitor and enforce HSEQ compliance across the sites, and advise on suitable control measures
* Assist in the implementation and continual review of HSEQ policies, procedures and risk assessments ensuring adequate control and compliance with relevant legislation/guidance
* Assist site management in the investigation of all accidents, incidents, dangerous occurrences, non-conformances and near misses. Provide advice on suitable improvement and corrective action/s.
* Assess environmental impacts and support targets to reduce Co2 emissions, direct and indirect waste, energy consumption and water usage
* Assist in maintaining contractor approval system and ensure stringent contractor control procedures are followed.
Criteria:
* Previous relevant experience working in Health & Safety within manufacturing, engineering, construction or similar environment
* Good IT skills
* NEBOSH Certification / Diploma
* Accredited Internal Auditor for HSEQ Management Systems would be highly desirable
