Mechanical Engineering Manager – Up to £60,000 Location: West Bromwich, West Midlands Here at NPP an exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and qualified Mechanical Engineering Manager to join one of our clients, who are a well-established company based in West Bromwich. Specialising in industrial manufacturing, this is a key role within a highly skilled Engineering team at a lower-tier COMAH facility. We are looking for someone to join the team immediately and make a real impact. Key Responsibilities: Manage the Mechanical and Civil Engineering departments, overseeing a team of 25 staff and additional contractors when required. Lead the Mechanical Maintenance department and manage Mechanical Project Engineering, ensuring efficient operations within an industrial manufacturing environment. Utilise Computerised Maintenance Management Systems to optimise processes. Maintain and promote a culture of safety, ensuring that all installations and maintenance activities adhere to the highest safety standards and comply with all legal, statutory, and company requirements. Liaise effectively across all levels of the company, as well as with external contacts such as suppliers, contractors, and regulatory bodies (e.g. HSE and insurance inspectors). Qualifications and Experience: A minimum of an HNC in Mechanical Engineering (a degree in Mechanical Engineering would be desirable). At least 10 years’ experience in a Mechanical Engineering role within an industrial manufacturing environment, with a minimum of 5 years in a supervisory or management role. Strong personnel management skills and excellent computer skills are essential. Experience in managing multiple complex projects simultaneously and the flexibility to adapt to changing operational priorities.
