Part Time Office Manager
Hours: 21 hours per week
Salary: £14 - £15 per hour - permanent contract
Come and join this small, friendly team of Accountants supporting the MD by undertaking a variety of administrative duties which will include some finance (not accounts) related activities and use of Word & Excel daily.
Responsibilities:
1. Onboard new clients including setup on portal, subscribe to monthly newsletter, register as agent with HMRC across specified work areas, professional clearance letter and update new client checklist spreadsheet.
2. Liaising with HMRC for queries relating to Corporation Tax, VAT, PAYE and Self-Assessment - training provided.
3. Tracking HMRC activities and returns for client use.
4. Supporting MD with diary, travel, production of correspondence.
5. Answering telephone calls.
6. Maintain register of work received from clients and allocation to storage.
7. Prompt clients for paperwork in a timely fashion.
8. Maintain employee timesheet reconciliation so billable work hours are tracked.
9. Maintain holiday/absence spreadsheet.
10. Purchase office consumables.
11. Pay cheques into client bank accounts when necessary.
12. Distribute quarterly newsletter to clients.
13. Evaluate and action any electronic marketing opportunities.
14. Analysis of data using Excel.
15. Marketing.
16. Attend with MD local business networking events.
17. Evaluate any other marketing opportunities (for example LinkedIn, X, Website etc.).
Skills:
The successful candidate will be self-motivated and a bit of an all-rounder who can prioritise, learn new skills, and organise tasks without supervision. You'll need good Word and Excel skills; some knowledge of accountancy/bookkeeping would be desirable as would an interest in marketing a small business.
