Engineering Safety Compliance Engineer
Job Location: Scotland - Alloa or Elgin
35 hours Full-time, Permanent

About the Role
The purpose of the Engineering Safety & Compliance engineer is to provide specialist technical support and mentorship supporting Global Engineering, Global Governance, and site stakeholders. The main responsibilities are direct specialist delivery on machinery safety PUWER risk assessments (The Provision and use of work Equipment Regulations 1998) within the Scotch sector of Diageo’s business, supporting engineering legislation clarification, and embedding Global engineering standards and specifications with consistency across Diageo’s Scotch sector sites aligned to Global Governance.
Some of the Key Accountabilities are:
1. Provide mentorship on machinery safety supporting Diageo’s Global Capex Engineering teams within the Scotch sector
2. Coordinate all Scotch sector PUWER machinery assessments
3. Provide/update PUWER machinery assessments within existing Scotch sector production locations
4. Lead all Scotch sector machinery inventory on Diageo’s PUWER database tool
5. Provide machinery safety guidance to site and Governance stakeholders
6. Review and update global engineering standards and legislation
To be successful in this role, you will need:
7. A suitable qualification in machinery safety (CMSE UCPD, C&G or other)
8. Knowledge of CE marking
9. Knowledge in machinery safety function design incorporating EN ISO 13849-1/ EN 62061
10. Knowledge of The Provision and Use of Work Regulations (PUWER)
11. Electrical Qualification or equivalent (HNC, ONC C&G or other)
12. NEBOSH National General certificate or willing towards
13. Excellent written and verbal communication
14. Ability to establish effective relationships at all levels with internal and external partners
15. Good to have IT and data analysis skills like Excel or Power BI
16. Consistent track record within a fast-paced consumer goods environment
17. Good attention to detail
18. Open to change and continual development
19. Ability to prioritize and plan under pressure.
20. Ability to travel within Europe when required.
21. Valid passport
22. Clean Driving licence as the role requires visiting sites for machinery assessments
