Position: Senior RF Engineer Reporting to: Engineering Software Security Manager Location: Enfield, United Kingdom Direct Reports: None Job Scope The Senior RF Engineer is responsible for significant work packages involving RF/Microwave module development, testing, and support. They also provide RF design expertise to support other areas of the business. Job Functions Proactively lead RF equipment development, via internal or sub-contracted work packages. Maintain RF designs, including product improvements and obsolescence management. Oversee the derivation of requirements and specifications, along with their verification and validation. Provide technical support to supply chain, quality assurance, suppliers, and customers. Support external RF designs and maintain RF production tests. Support RF module manufacturing by responding to technical issues, conducting trend analysis, and performing root cause analysis. Ensure adherence to engineering procedures and maintain quality through design and manufacturing processes. Generate estimates, create plans, and manage small work packages. Ensure adequate documentation is maintained. Perform any other tasks associated with this role. Requirements - Essential Proficiency in PCB design at microwave frequencies, including manipulating schematics and defining/reviewing required layouts. Expertise in RF component selection, including knowledge of high-power RF amplifiers, low-noise amplifiers, limiters, circulators, filters, mixers, and phase-locked loops. Experience in RF system design (e.g., cascade analysis). Familiarity with RF test equipment, such as spectrum analyzers and vector network analyzers. Knowledge of design for test and design for manufacture. Experience in a production environment, with a strong understanding of processes such as SMT. Self-motivated and capable of working effectively within a team. Strong command of written and verbal English. Requirements - Desirable Familiarity with Altium PCB design software. Working knowledge of radar or closely related applications, such as communications. Experience in any of the following areas: Digital electronics or power supply design. Requirements management and/or systems engineering disciplines. Test automation (e.g., using MATLAB or Python). EMC (Electromagnetic Compatibility). Regulatory compliance (e.g., FCC, ITU, or ETSI requirements).
