Forest School Teaching Assistant
Location: Abergavenny, NP7
Start Date: January 7th
Hours: Full-time, 8:30 am - 3:30 pm, Monday to Friday
Contract: Temporary with the view to go permanent
Are you passionate about helping children with special educational needs thrive in a natural learning environment? We are seeking a dedicated Forest School Teaching Assistant who can bring the magic of outdoor learning to life for our unique students at our inclusive school in the scenic heart of Abergavenny, NP7. We're proud to offer a Specialist Resource Base (SRB) that empowers children with conditions such as autism (ASD), ADHD, dyslexia, and Down syndrome. Your role will be pivotal in delivering bespoke education within our smaller, focused classes, ensuring every student feels valued and supported from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm daily.
Responsibilities:
1. Support lessons outside the traditional classroom setting, encouraging a love for nature among our students.
2. Employ creative approaches to engage and inspire children with varying needs.
3. Assist with adapting learning materials to suit individual learning styles.
4. Provide emotional and social support, enhancing students' self-confidence and independent learning skills.
5. Work collaboratively with our dedicated team to implement structured daily routines that cater to our students' success.
If You Are:
1. Experienced or interested in supporting children with additional learning needs.
2. Enthusiastic about outdoor education and confident in managing a safe, engaging learning environment.
3. Compassionate, patient and possess excellent communication skills.
4. Hold Level 2-3 in any child/education courses.
