Band 6 Trauma & Orthopaedic Theatre Practitioner - friendly and supportive learning environment with developmental opportunities innovative and dynamic team.
Full Time position 37.5 hours over 4 days.
**This is a secondment/acting-up opportunity for 12 months to cover maternity/secondment leave**

The Trauma and Orthopaedic theatre department consists of two designated Trauma theatres and a unique ring-fenced Elective unit holding a further 4 theatres and recovery.

Main duties of the job
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated person who aspires to learn and develop to join our inspirational team.
In applying for this position, candidates should demonstrate effective leadership skills, ability to efficiently manage theatre list and consider patient safety as a priority.
Experience within Trauma and Orthopaedics is essential for this role. Although the position is based in Trauma and Orthopaedic you will have the opportunity to work across different specialties.
The successful candidate will demonstrate high standards of practice with excellent communication, clinical and decision making skills. You will need to demonstrate the ability to translate the trusts vision of high quality care and excellent patient experience into action.
Requirements & Responsibilities:
NMC registered nurse or HCPC registered Operating Department Practitioner (ODP).
Evidence of Band 5 Development.
Mentorship qualification/certificate.
Orthopaedic Surgical Scrub experience and Skills.
Anaesthetic Skills desirable but not essential.
You should be motivated and enthusiastic about your own professional development and keen to enhance skills and competencies within the team.
