Principal Clinical/Counselling Psychologist - Early Intervention Psychosis
We have an exciting opportunity to join our Early Intervention Psychosis (EIP) Team. We are a small but friendly team who would welcome the addition of a Clinical/Counselling Psychologist to share their expertise. The EIP Team is multi-professional and covers the whole of Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board.
The postholder will be integral to enable the team to offer a psychologically informed EIP service and specifically in providing and overseeing the delivery of evidenced based psychological interventions.
The post sits within the broader Adult Specialised Services Directorate and will be supported by the Directorate Lead Consultant Clinical Psychologist.
Main Duties of the Job
1. Provide and oversee the delivery of evidence-based psychologically informed care.
2. Provide supervision and training to other disciplines in evidence-based approaches and facilitate team formulation meetings.
3. Help evaluate service developments and provide regular reports to management.
4. Work autonomously within professional guidelines and the overall framework of the services policies and procedures.

Person Specification
Qualifications and/or Knowledge
* Doctoral level training in clinical or counselling psychology (or its equivalent for those trained prior to 2000), including specifically, neuropsychology, two or more distinct psychological therapies, and lifespan developmental psychology as accredited by Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
* Recognized training in supervision of trainee psychologists.
* Knowledge of legislation in relation to the specialism and mental health generally.
* Evidence of CPD as recommended by the HCPC or British Psychological Society.
* Knowledge and experience of models, evidence, and practice relating to Early Psychosis.
* Completion of suitable post-qualification supervised clinical experience with specialized client group(s).
* Willingness to undertake specialist training in evidence-based psychological interventions for psychosis, if not already in possession of such training.
* Specific training in evidence-based interventions for psychosis.
* Family intervention in Psychosis.
* Cognitive therapy for Psychosis.
* Specific training in trauma-focused approaches, either individual or group.
Experience
* Experience in Care and Treatment planning as defined under the Mental Health Measure, Wales.
* Experience of working with a wide variety of clinical presentations, across the whole life course.
* Experience of working with service users presenting with early psychosis.
* Experience of the application of psychology in different cultural contexts addressing issues of socio-economic deprivation or marginalization.
* Experience of working with risky clients as well as seeing clients in inpatient and community settings and working in the least restrictive environment.
* Experience of working with service users who present with high risk of self-harm or are vulnerable to exploitation.
* Experience of supervising psychologists and psychological therapists from other professions (e.g., nursing, occupational therapy).
* Experience of multi-professional management within teams or services.
* Experience of facilitating team formulation meetings.
* Experience of planning and organizing a broad range of complex activities and programs.
* Multi-disciplinary team working and involvement in developing risk management plans.
* Confidence/experience in evaluation of outcomes and service developments.
* Enthusiastic, self-motivated, and able to work independently.
* Demonstrates good interpersonal skills.
* Understands equality issues.
* Can communicate competently and effectively with clients, relatives, and fellow staff.
* Able to make judgments involving highly complex facts or situations, which require the analysis, interpretation, and comparison of a range of options.
* Having the skills to work within multi-professional, joint-agency settings.
* Emotional resilience to work with highly traumatized clients and their distressing material.
* Ability to demonstrate clinical leadership.

* Ability to travel in a timely manner across the geographical area covered by CTMUHB.
