Job summary Velindre Cancer Centre is a division of the Trust, and one of the leading non-surgical oncology centres in the United Kingdom. The challenge is to go further and achieve the quality of services, patient experience and clinical outcomes that are comparable with the best in Europe and the western world. In support of this ambition, the Trust has facilitated the Transforming Cancer Services Programme, which sets out a compelling vision for excellence in South East Wales. Working closely with Welsh Government and Local Health Boards, the programme will consist of a number of projects which include the development of a new cancer centre (nVCC) in Cardiff, a Radiotherapy Satellite Centre in Abergavenny and the reconfiguration of outreach services. The post holder will work in the nVCC Project delivering the workstream objectives and dependency link wider TCS Programme to deliver a new hospital in 2027. The post requires an individual who has excellent organisational and communication skills. Experience of working in healthcare setting is desirable but not essential. Main duties of the job The post holder will be accountable for ensuring that the plan is kept up to date, developing progress reports and recording progress and slippage accurately. The post holder will develop and produce regular reports for internal and external stakeholders. The post holder must be able to create clear communications, via diagrams, presentations or papers, to explain the Project's status, key drivers, dependencies and timescales. The post holder must be able to demonstrate sound judgement in dealing with both internal and external stakeholders, ensuring a professional climate is maintained, despite the time pressure and inevitable challenges. The post holder must be capable of developing scenario models which will inform decision making when the Project is considering multiple options or approaches to projects or risks. To provide project management support for workstream leads ensuring time, cost and quality principles underpin outputs and deliverables in line with the programme plan. The post holder will work closely with Project Managers and workstream leads to ensure delivery to programme plan is maintained and immediate escalation of any emerging trends or issues are raised.
