Job summary THIS POST IS FIXED TERM/SECONDMENT FOR 11 MONTHS TO COVER SECONDMENT. The post holder will develop and maintain a combined Theatre activity system, database or complex spreadsheet ensuring that they are fit for purpose, and will develop and promote the recording of activity and work indicators, to improve the analysis of theatre information and to provide high quality management information to aid decision making. The post holder is expected to provide expert technical support and professional advice for all aspects of Theatre Activity. This will involve investigating highly complex enquiries and performance analysis at a CPG, Specialty, Consultant or even Patient Level. Main duties of the job The provision and processing of accurate, timely and reliable theatre information in accordance with guidelines and procedures, through the completion of own work and through the coordination of the work of others. Provide assistance and support to Managers, and undertakes investigation into complex variances and analyses, suggesting relevant corrective action to Managers as necessary. Produce and maintain a system for planning theatre activity to allow managers to allocate staff efficiently, and to respond safely and flexibly to change routine. This will involve close co-operation with Consultants and Anaesthetists. Explore opportunities for improved scheduling of theatre sessions/operations and reducing cancellations and report to the Clinical Management Teams. Assist in the implementation of emergency sessions by recording information and providing appropriate reports on activity. Liaise with WAG and collect, collate and provide timely and accurate data returns for All Wales Key Performance Indicators, activity and the cancellation of procedures for Theatres. Analyse and manipulate complex data sets to produce high quality management information for the Trust's senior managers and clinical staff within the Divisions.
