Job Overview:
The Step By Step Baird Memorial Out of School care is currently recruiting a fully qualified and experienced childcare manager. The ideal candidate will already have the skills and knowledge for working with school aged children and have a loving, caring and friendly nature. The working hours for this role are negotiable however will include afterschool and holiday care.
The successful candidate must hold at least an HNC or equivalent SVQ in Early Years, Childhood Practice or equivalent, with current experience of working with children and young people sector, or willing to work towards a BA in Childhood Practice. It is expected that any applicant will be registered with SSSC at practitioner level and already be a member of the PVG Scheme with Disclosure Scotland.
The manager will be integral in ensuring that a collaborative approach is taken with the families and the wider school community that the service will be working closely with.
Responsibilities:
1. Manage all aspects of the club's operations, including facilities, staff, and experiences
2. Develop and implement strategies to enhance a high quality child-led service
3. Recruit, train, and supervise club staff to deliver an excellent service
4. Maintain a safe and welcoming environment for children and families
5. Plan and coordinate family events to engage the wider community
6. Monitor and evaluate staff performance to ensure a positive delivery of service
Qualifications:
1. 3 years previous childcare experience
2. Preferably 2 years experience managing a childcare service
3. HNC or equivalent SVQ in early years, Childhood practice or equivalent with current experience working in childcare and young people sector
4. BA or willingness to work towards BA in childhood practice is essential
5. Applicant should be registered with the SSSC at practitioner level and must already be a member of the PVG scheme at Disclosure Scotland
6. Strong communication and leadership skills and a passion for delivering exceptional customer service
