An exciting opportunity has arisen within Pre Op Assessment at Treliske Hospital for a registered nurse.
To be able to be a skilled member of the team with the upcoming on-line assessments (ePOA).
To be able to consider some working from home hours in the future when ePOA has been actioned.
To be trained and competent to complete patient assessments both on-line and face to face as needed.
To assist in the creation of a welcoming team that works professionally in a caring and safe environment.
To communicate effectively with the multi-disciplinary team both within the Trust and externally.
Main duties of the job
To assist in the provision of the highest standard of nursing care for the patients and their families.
To plan, assess, implement, and evaluate programmes of care for individual patients and to assist other staff in this activity, both on-line and face to face.
To ensure an ongoing welcoming, caring and safe environment is provided.
To act as an advocate for the patients ensuring the provision of appropriate information and support services.
To provide pre-operative plans of care to include medication plans, diabetic plans and advise and refer as necessary to promote health and wellbeing preoperatively.
To develop and maintain clinical skills and knowledge necessary to provide holistic, evidence-based nursing care.
To supply medication under local Patient Group Directives as required, after relevant training.
To help ensure clinical practice is evidence based or peer reviewed "best practice".
To use the Patient Administration System (PAS) in accordance with Trust policy and procedure.
