Job Title: Drama Specialist
Location: Telford
Salary: £100 - £220 per day depending on qualifications and experience.
Position Overview: We are seeking a talented and passionate Drama Teacher to join our dedicated team of educators and work within a secondary school in Telford. The successful candidate will have a genuine enthusiasm for teaching drama to secondary school students and a commitment to fostering their artistic growth and development.
Responsibilities:
* Plan and deliver engaging and innovative drama lessons that inspire and challenge students.
* Create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment where students feel empowered to explore their creativity and express themselves.
* Develop and implement curriculum plans that align with the National Curriculum and the school's educational objectives.
* Direct and oversee student productions, guiding students through the rehearsal process and ensuring high-quality performances.
* Assess student progress through a variety of formative and summative assessments, providing constructive feedback to support their development.
* Collaborate with colleagues to integrate drama across the curriculum and participate in school-wide events and productions.
* Stay updated on current trends and best practices in drama education and actively participate in professional development opportunities.
Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in Drama, Performing Arts, Education, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent certification is preferred but not essential.
* Previous experience teaching drama at the secondary school level, with a proven track record of student success.
* Deep knowledge of drama pedagogy, theatre history, and dramatic literature.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate students from diverse backgrounds.
* Creativity, adaptability, and a commitment to fostering a positive learning environment.
* Experience directing student productions is highly desirable.
