NES Fircroft is collaborating with an independent, family-owned company based in West Bromwich, West Midlands, that manufactures organic chemicals for various industries, including Pharmaceutical, Agrochemical, Rubber, Polymer, Food & Beverage, and allied sectors.
We are seeking a SHE Officer to assist in the development and implementation of our clients site Safety, Health and Environmental programmes.
Key Requirements:
1. Developing risk assessments and safe systems of work.
2. Assisting with the maintenance of the sites environmental management system.
3. Ensure suitable SHE inspection and auditing programmes are established, completed and implemented, including maintenance/follow up of corrective action databases.
4. Support the development and delivery of Site Safety Meetings and other SHE communications.
5. Review, devise, write and implement suitable health, safety and environmental procedures.
6. Investigate accidents, incidents and near misses, issuing reports and ensuring SHE Incident log is up to date and maintained.
7. Emergency preparedness – Ensure Safety Data Sheets and COMAH Compliance.
Qualifications and Experience:
1. Health and Safety experience gained from manufacturing, preferably high hazard industry, chemicals and CoMAH preferred.
2. Risk assessment review and development experience.
3. Incident investigation, root cause analysis, auditing and report writing.
4. NEBOSH certificate essential.
5. Knowledge of current SHE legislation/regulation.
6. Knowledge of Process Safety, Human Factors and Behavioural Safety an advantage.
Working Hours and Benefits:
1. 8:45 am – 4:30 pm on-site, 36.25 hours per week.
