Do you want to work in a role where you can support people in Sutton to rebuild their lives? This post is offered as a fixed term contract until November 2025, or as a secondment for internal applicants. An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Sutton Vulnerable Adults Service for someone to join the team as a Housing Support Worker. The service provides supported accommodation across Sutton for over 100 adults with multiple needs as part of the Sutton Vulnerable Adults Pathway. We provide short term accommodation for up to 24 months, where clients are supported to identify appropriate move-on plans into sustainable accommodation. Our dedicated team work with a multi-agency, and recovery based approach to assist clients to achieve move-on aims. In the role of Housing Support you will: Work on the weekly rota Mon - Fri 9-5, excluding weekends and Bank Holidays. Oversee a case load of clients, creating a supportive environment and working in a person centred way to support clients identify personal aims and ambitions, and support them to make and carry out plans towards achieving them. Provide practical and personal support to clients in a way that is approachable, engaging, flexible and caring. Work with partner agencies, and client’s access health and treatment, employment and training opportunists to meet their individual needs, and work towards focusing on engagement within the community. About you We are looking for inspirational, committed individuals who have a genuine desire to support people to transform their lives. If you have good interpersonal and skills, patience and resilience you don’t need to have direct experience, as we will provide you with the knowledge and training you need to work with clients in a holistic and person-centred way. You should demonstrate the below: A non-judgemental approach to working with homeless and vulnerable people, a good understanding, of or willingness to learn about the needs of our clients, especially those with complex needs. Good communication skills with the ability to build and maintain positive relationships with relevant partner agencies, The ability to manage complex and difficult situations in relation to people Dedication and personal resilience required to maintain enthusiasm for day to day contact with clients.
