We are seeking an experienced and skilled Lead Occupational Therapist to join our team. Our hospital provides individualized care to adults with complex mental health needs and challenging behaviours, helping patients reintegrate into the community and achieve greater independence.
Role Overview
As the Lead Occupational Therapist, you will provide clinical, professional, and operational leadership to the OT service. Your role will include overseeing the delivery of specialized assessment, treatment, and care, working closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure the best outcomes for patients.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead the Occupational Therapy service, ensuring it meets local and national standards, including COT Standards for Practice.
* Work closely with multidisciplinary colleagues to integrate OT care into the broader patient care plans.
* Deliver advanced, specialized OT assessments and treatment interventions.
* Participate in quality improvement initiatives and clinical audits, ensuring high standards of service delivery.
* Oversee student placements and provide mentorship and supervision for OT team members.
* Represent the OT department in clinical governance, patient safety, and regional OT meetings.
* Manage the OT therapy activity budget.
Essential Criteria:
* Qualified Occupational Therapist, with HCPC registration.
* Experience leading or supervising an Occupational Therapy service.
