The assistant will be part of a growing finance team and will have the opportunity to work alongside other departments with their finance requirements. This is a critical role within a small finance team. The ideal candidate must be able to work well under pressure, manage multiple tasks, and be extremely organised. It is a very exciting opportunity for someone to enter or progress in an accountancy role within a fast-growing company.
Roles and Responsibilities
1. Bookkeeping of purchase invoices on a weekly basis
2. Raising sales invoices and completing full credit control chasing payments
3. Bank reconciliations of all accounts including petty cash on a weekly basis
4. Reconciliation of credit card statements on a monthly basis
5. Preparing fortnightly payment run for review
6. Analysis of logistics invoices on a weekly basis
7. Preparation of manufacturers invoices on a daily basis
8. Liaising with internal PL teams as well as third party providers, clients, and suppliers where required
9. Assisting with management reporting
10. Assisting with compliance reporting
11. Assistance with preparation of performance and cost analysis
12. Be lead partner to the Buying and Logistics team process
13. Assistance with day-to-day adhoc tasks
Qualifications, Skills and Experience
1. Currently studying towards AAT qualification or higher
2. Retail experience desired
3. Prior working experience in finance functions
4. Ability to work in a team
5. Self-starter & ability to be reactive to work needs
6. Excellent communication skills
7. Experience using accounts software; we currently use Xero
8. Intermediate Excel skills
