Purpose of the Production Supervisor role:
Our client is looking for a Production Supervisor to manage and lead Production teams in delivering the production plan & all the Production KPIs to deliver aircraft seats in line with customer requirements and to quality standards.
Main duties and responsibilities of a Production Supervisor:
. Agree on the weekly plan and ensure delivery dates/parts requirements are communicated and met.
. Ensure cells operate at maximum efficiency; continuously monitoring product quality, productivity, and resources and implementing necessary changes/improvements to improve/avoid delays.
. Effectively use Lean tools (5S, Standard Work, set up Reduction, Visual Management) within your teams to improve safety, quality, delivery, and cost, and maintain lines and production areas in an organised, clean, and orderly state.
. Control traceability by ensuring paperwork and parts are kept with the correct work order and ensure all work orders are closed out correctly with all parts issued before despatch
. Communicate inconsistencies/issues relating to safety, quality, personnel, equipment and/or raw/finished goods across the production floor and with key stakeholders promptly and effectively.
. Hold daily team briefs and one-to-one every 3 months, as a minimum, to enhance team and individual performance following company PMC.
. Identify, prioritise, and plan on-the-job training and request external training via the Senior Manager Operations as required to meet regulatory and legislative requirements, applicable Codes of Practice, and relevant best practices and guidance.
. Coach, mentor, and develop the team to meet safety, quality, productivity, and development needs.
. Create a safe working environment and a culture with zero tolerance for accidents; Ensure compliance with Health & Safety standards and relevant HSE procedures, instructing staff in the safe use of machinery and tools. Ensure appropriate levels of Fire Marshals and First Aiders are always on site.
Experience/knowledge requirements for a Production Supervisor:
. Demonstrable leadership skills and the ability to address issues with honesty, integrity, and timeliness.
. A team player who collaborates with colleagues and across departments.
. Strong organisational skills, where you take initiative and remain focused under pressure.
. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbally and in writing.
. Effective relationship management & stakeholder management skills.
. Experience within aircraft seating or manufacturing environment.
. Full understanding of production costs, including waste, downtime, and scrap.
. Up-to-date training/certification in Fire Marshal Training and First Aid preferred.
. Flexible and adaptable, with a 'can do' attitude.
. Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
