About the Department
Strategic Planning and Projects (SPP) is a small central function facilitating and supporting performance analysis, planning, and change at Goldsmiths. SPP has a key role in developing strategy and enabling the implementation of strategic plans. The SPP planning function supports an annual planning cycle; provides a management information analysis and insight service; and is responsible for the production of a number of external returns.
About the Role
The Senior Strategic Planning Officer role is varied against an annual calendar of strategic and planning activity. The role-holder will contribute to institution-wide strategic & operational planning and decision-making through the provision of management information and business intelligence reporting. Working across a wide range of data sources, the role-holder will generate quantitative and qualitative analysis producing written reports, presentations, and supporting our further development of reporting solutions. As part of the wider team, the role holder will contribute to the preparation of statutory returns as required. As we implement our strategic plan, the role holder will support work to identify business intelligence requirements and find ways to report our data to deliver insights and inform decision making and actions.
About the Candidate
In addition to your expertise in business intelligence and data analysis, we are looking for applicants who have demonstrable expertise in using software applications to analyse, interpret and report on complex data and an understanding of the role of data in decision making. An excellent communicator, you will be able to draft reports and presentations for management teams and committees which meaningfully combine data analysis with a narrative. With a degree or equivalent professional experience, you are a diligent self-starter who communicates well and is used to supporting a wide range of stakeholders. You will be meticulous about accuracy and quality in your work and ideally have an applied knowledge of the University sector.
