HGV TECHNICIAN
A great role for an HGV Technician based near Telford, this role will be mainly Mobile, but there will be some work based at the workshop.

Location of the HGV Technician / Mobile HGV Technician: Telford - covering up to Coventry
Salary: £43,000 - £45,000 pa (Negotiable) plus overtime, and on call rotaOvertime rate £27.75ph, Night rate if called out - £37.00ph and Standby - £45.00
Hours of work for the HGV Technician / Mobile HGV Technician: Monday to Friday Day 45 hours a week, plus on call Breakdown Rota
This role will will be a mix between the workshop and on call (rotas) attending breakdowns on the road. When there is a call out it is mainly one of the fleet drivers that need help.
My client, a fleet company specialising in Road Sweepers, Tankers and HGVs, are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic HGV Technician / Fleet Engineer / Mobile HGV Technician to join their team near Telford and covering up to Coventry.

? To Maintain and repair vehicles in accordance with Company Policy.? To apply professional technical methods and standards.? To complete a given workload in an expected timely manner.? To complete and submit all associated documentation in an expected timely manner, this includes following all processes once implemented.? Have a willingness to accept technical training from internal and external sources.? To respect equipment provided by the company to enable duties.? Hold, or be prepared to train for, the relevant licences to drive or test vehicles and equipment.? Have knowledge of the DVSA standards for heavy and light vehicles.? Observe the companys documented safe working practices and Risk Assessment.? Respect documented COSHH handling and storage practices.? To be always polite and courteous when dealing with colleagues and/or customers.? Maintain a clean, tidy and safe working environment at your work station.
Key Responsibilities of the HGV Technician / HGV Technician / Breakdown HGV Mechanic:
Fleet
* Ensure vehicles are maintained above the minimum standards required by the DVSA so that the vehicles do not fall below the minimum standards between scheduled service/inspection dates.
* Assist in co-ordinate repairs on company assets.
* Ensure vehicles and plant are maintained in line with the service planner.
* Undertake vehicle and equipment inspections, service and repairs, in accordance with company policy.
Technical
* Hold Industry recognised training qualifications, City & Guilds, NVQs or equivalent (Time Served considered)
* Be familiar with modern fault code reader diagnostic systems
* Have a wide range knowledge of light vehicles to HGV chassis manufacturers and specialist equipment mounted on vehicles, plant and other specialist equipment
* To ensure all parts are booked out of stock and allocated to the correct vehicle, ensure your labour hours per job are accurately recorded and allocated to the correct vehicle.
The ideal HGV Technician will have a Class 2 licence
