Due to an expanding Project Pipeline, we are currently looking for an experienced Consultant Engineer with strong experience of ICT, Audio Visual, Telecom, and Electronic Security systems to join our Specialist team based in either our Maidenhead or London offices. We are open to recruiting this role at various levels; if you have some experience and the right attitude, we can train and coach you.
What does the role involve?
Our Specialist Team predominately supports the Sweco UK Building Services Business Unit, planning and designing the fundamental elements of digital-based, intelligent, automated Information Technology, Audio Visual and Electronic Security based solutions. There is also a growing international workload assisting our other Sweco offices.
You'll support the delivery of a wide variety of projects sometimes within a Sweco multidisciplinary Building Services Design Team, or independently as direct-won standalone work. This may be for several key Clients covering a range of activities from project feasibility through to detailed design and construction support.
In terms of Project Delivery, you will:
1. Produce an array of design deliverables in oral, written, and graphical formats.
2. Undertake concept designs, produce and co-ordinate detailed designs.
3. Undertake feasibility studies and reports.
4. Participate in Technical Reviews, internal and customer facing.
5. Produce schematic, layout drawings, Materials and Workmanship specifications.
6. Check Specialist Trade Contractor proposals / technical submissions against project requirements.
7. Attend internal/external project review meetings and undertake on-site snagging, system witness testing and assist with facilitating commissioning management.
8. Conduct technical site surveys and site investigations.
To be successful in this role you'll possess:
1. Qualifications in Engineering, Science or a closely related discipline.
2. Technical membership of an appropriate professional body (desirable).
3. Experience in the preparation of technical written reports, feasibility studies and specifications.
4. Ability to take ownership of deliverables, technically and commercially, within project deadlines.
5. Ability to work collaboratively with others to form strong positive working relationships with colleagues, clients and contractors.
6. Hands-on working knowledge of Microsoft Office, BIM, Revit and CAD.
7. Good presentation, communication and interpersonal skills are essential. Excellent report writing skills along with a good command of English - this is a client-facing role.
