Calling all compassionate and dedicated individuals! Mencap is seeking a passionate Support Worker to join our incredible team in Belper, Derbyshire.
As a Support Worker, you'll have the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of individuals we support with learning disabilities. You will be working with a diverse group of people, each with their own unique abilities and needs.
From assisting with daily activities to providing emotional support, you’ll play a vital role in their life.
Based at our main site in the Belper area, no shift will be the same.
Belper Community support is a service where we support nine individuals to live as independently as possible within their own home. You will be supporting them to maintain their homes from basic domestic tasks, supporting with household bills and finances, medication, supporting to access the local community, making and attending appointments, and teaching life skills such as cooking and budgeting.
There will also be an opportunity to work at other services in the local area.
What we're looking for:
1. A genuine passion for supporting others.
2. Excellent communication skills and the ability to build meaningful relationships.
3. Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
4. A positive and empathetic attitude towards individuals with learning disabilities.
Contract options:
30 hour contract working on a fixed four-week rolling rota including evenings, sleep-ins, and weekends.
All our services are 24hr care and include a sleep. We prepare the rotas at least 4 weeks in advance so you can still plan your personal and social life!
Shift Patterns:
Days/Evenings: Between 07:30-15:30, 15:30-22:30 including a sleep-in. 10:00-18:00
Sleep-in shifts you will receive an enhanced flat rate payment of £62.45.
* An enhanced DBS will be required for the successful candidate (Paid for by Mencap, T&Cs apply).
24 days annual leave plus bank holidays (pro-rata for part-time) + a variety of benefits including pension and holiday buying options.
