We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Principle Electrical Engineer to work within Rolls-Royce Power Systems (RRPS) in Bristol.
As part of NautIQ Solutions team, you will be working closely with other engineering disciplines to design Low Voltage Power Distribution Systems and Equipment for Naval applications.
As part of Rolls-Royce’s pathway to net-zero, the team is developing low voltage DC hybrid propulsion systems, combining Rolls-Royce diesel generators and batteries into a complete DC system offering that includes the Integrated Platform Management System. This offering is aimed at the Commercial Marine market, principally yachts and ferries.

What you will be doing:
* Design and optimise bespoke electrical power systems to meet customer's requirements.
* Ensure technical project outcomes and provide guidance to a small team when required.
* Apply sound technical judgement and identify solutions to problems in the design, development and verification of Power Distribution Systems and Equipment.
* Understand company business objectives and work across boundaries with stakeholders.
* Present and exchange complex technical ideas and information concisely.
* Assist managers in coaching and training, as well as providing input on performance reviews.
* Lead the testing of electrical products through to delivery.
* Engage with customers, suppliers, and operators, with occasional travel required.
* Author and review technical documentation before final approval.
Who we’re looking for:
* Educated to degree level or equivalent in the electrical field with experience in electrical design techniques.
* Comprehensive understanding of electricity applications and latest developments in electrical theory.
* Extensive knowledge of AC and DC electrical power distribution systems.
* Able to work autonomously and lead projects.
* Excellent communication and influencing skills.
* Able to plan and drive commitments, delivering to quality, on time, and to budget.
It would be advantageous if you:
* Possess knowledge of marine and electrical standards and regulations.
* Are professionally registered as a Chartered Engineer or working towards it.
* Can support individuals in design software such as AutoCAD electrical.
