We are seeking an exceptional HR professional to join us as our new Deputy Director for People, to play a key role in leading our People Directorate and delivering our People Strategy. The Deputy Director will lead on all aspects of our people agenda across AWP, working particularly closely with the Executive Director for People's team, and working collaboratively with our two Integrated Care Systems., Joining AWP as our Deputy Director for People, you will play a key role in shaping our workforce strategy, ensuring AWP is a 'Great Place to Work.' Like all NHS organisations we face pressing workforce challenges, and we are looking for an experienced, credible HR professional who can lead confidently, inspire teams, and support leaders to create a positive, open culture. You'll oversee a large portfolio, working autonomously while fostering partnership and improvement across the organisation. If you are passionate about motivating others and making a meaningful impact, we want you to help us drive change and make AWP a better place for all., Deep credibility and knowledge as an HR professional is essential, as is the desire to truly understand our services and inspire our workforce. You will be a visible and influential presence, serving as a focal point for leaders and managers, and leading the People Directorate team of over 100. Your role will be pivotal in fostering an open, honest, and 'just' culture, motivating staff at all levels to engage and contribute to improvement. With highly developed people skills, you will partner effectively with others, demonstrating kindness while encouraging everyone to give their best.

To thrive as our Deputy Director for People, you will need experience in demanding people management or HR roles gained from either the NHS or other highly regulated people facing organisations, with the ability to manage a wide-ranging portfolio.
